To help foster creativity in all forms, AJLA is taking steps to create a robotics program. With the proper equipment and materials, students can use their new knowledge to compete as a middle school robotics team.

Our 2nd and 3rd graders travel to SquashBridge, a brand new community squash facility in Bridgeport, on Tuesday afternoon. This fee includes court time, equipment and instruction.

A much needed advancement to our art program, a glass kiln would open the door to unique interdisciplinary projects that blend art, science, design, and craftsmanship. When students get the chance to work in a new medium, they build confidence, expand their creative thinking, and discover new ways to express their ideas through hands-on learning.

Music and theater are already an essential component of the AJLA curriculum, but we would like to broaden and enhance what we offer with instrument instruction and music theory as well as providing more opportunities for drama in the elementary school.

Currently our youngest students in PreK and K participate in a fun introduction to singing and movement.
All students in 1st grade and above participate in chorus and our MS students put on 2 plays a year.
AJLA also hosts a Select Girls' Choir.

Every student at AJLA receives financial aid - help send one of our eager learners to school for the year.

Supply one child with lacrosse equipment for the spring season.

Our 6th and 7th graders have EARNED a trip to Lake Compounce in this year's Reading Initiative! Each 6th and 7th grader will receive 2 tickets for themselves and an adult. Please help us make this an ANNUAL tradition for our Middle Schoolers.

Please help us enrich our curriculum for our early readers with a NEW series of decodable books filled with both fiction and non-fiction stories.

Field trips offer significant educational advantages by providing hands-on, real-world experiences that increase student engagement and boost academic performance.

Examples include: the Met, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Intrepid and Sturbridge Village.

Please help AJLA continue to provide a free breakfast program, a nutritious lunch prepared at school by our own chefs and 2 healthy snacks a day for our growing student body. When AJLA students are in school, families only need to worry about providing dinner for their children.

Provide items like workbenches, tool kits, laser cutters and a variety of supplies for our STEAM lab!

Help us make field day incredible by providing all AJLA students with t-shirts, equipment and snacks for our annual Field Day!

At AJLA, we prepare students to be thoughtful leaders in a rapidly evolving digital world. Beginning with digital citizenship and critical thinking, students learn to use technology responsibly while building skills in typing, coding, robotics, design, and problem-solving through hands-on exploration and innovation.

Provide AJLA students with Chromebooks for use in their classroom for $450 each - price includes a chromebook plus a case and license for school use.

AJLA is so excited to welcome our first class of 8th graders for the 2026-2027 school year. Help our soon-to-be graduates begin their last year at AJLA with all the supplies they need for their new classroom including desks, chairs, a conference table, books and materials.

The sky's the limit! Items include anything to enhance learning in the classroom: curriculum materials, book sets, furniture, rugs, a writing center, blocks, manipulatives, a dollhouse and so much more!

Support for our garden program helps provide students with meaningful hands-on experiences that deepen their understanding of science, sustainability, nutrition, and responsibility while strengthening their connection to the natural world. Through planting, growing, and caring for the garden together, students build collaboration, problem-solving skills, and a lasting appreciation for the environment.

4K Smart Boards enhance teaching and learning by creating a more interactive and engaging classroom experience. The touch-screen technology and high-definition display support dynamic lessons, student collaboration, and the development of essential digital literacy skills.

Help us equip our newly constructed sound booth with mics, headphones, laptop and a desk. Could there be an AJLA podcast???

At AJLA, we believe that student success is closely tied to how connected, supported and engaged our families are. We offer language classes at no cost to our families in order for them to improve their English. It costs an average of $2500 a month for 20 AJLA families to take these classes.

ITEMS INCLUDE: paper, paints, drying racks. All items guaranteed to help our students' creativity bloom!

AJLA's last day of school is June 5th. Help us end the year by creating special memories with a food truck, a carnival, faculty party and graduation.
