"Dolphin Electric" Print by Fred Fisher

This unique, 34" x 14" piece was created by Tallahassee local artist Fred Fisher. Fishing has been a lifelong passion of Fred's. He uses the ancient technique of "gyotaku", also known as fish rubbings. This technique was developed by Japanese fisherman as a way to record the size of their prized catch. The style involves covering each fish with colorful acrylic paint and pressing them onto the surface of the canvas to capture a unique mirror image.

Framed Bobwhite Quail Print by Richard A. Parks

This print by the late Richard A. Parks is a limited edition, signed print, only numbered 209/1050. Richard was a resident artist of the Georgia Ornithological Society and a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Architecture. He was also a veteran and served as a Naval Officer during WWII.

Richard was best known as a wildlife artist and illustrator almost exclusively painting birds. He was well known among the ornithological society and was the last living charter member of the Georgia Ornithological Society when he passed in 2013. His remaining art collection of over two hundred paintings with field notes, studies, and working sketches, are housed at the Hargrett Special Collections library at the University of Georgia.

Framed Original Oil Landscape on Canvas by the late Mun S. Quan

This original oil on canvas by the late artist Mun S. Quan (1917-2000) depicts a landscape scene in the Chinese tradition and is highlighted by its custom pecky cypress frame. The artist's signature in the lower right-hand corner is dated 1957 and it also depicts Chinese characters in the lower left-hand corner.

Mun Quan was a celebrated and well-known artist in the Jacksonville, Florida area during the second half of the 20th Century and eventually became widely known for his traditional Chinese style of painting, in both oil and watercolors. He was born in Canton, China, and settled in Jacksonville in 1926. He studied art in both China and in the U.S. becoming a professor of art at Jacksonville University in the 1970's through the 1990's. He also had a career as chief of parasitology at the Florida State Board of Health. During his art career he had several solo exhibits with Jacksonville Art Museum, University of Florida, Jacksonville University, and other Florida Art Associations and received art awards in both China and the U.S.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of a fine winter/spring morning, while learning how to identify the many birds that fire-maintained pinewoods support. Tall Timbers Game Bird Experience for Four

You and three guests will get to join Michael Hazelbaker, the Game Bird Research Biologist, and the rest of the game bird team here at Tall Timbers for the experience of your choosing. The winning bidder will have their choice of either a quail brood capture or adult quail trapping. This will be a unique opportunity to get hands on field experience. During a brood capture, you will get a close up of the ins and outs, including catching quail chicks and then banding, weighing and measuring their wing span! During an adult quail trapping, you will get to handle quail which includes sexing, aging, banding, and attaching radio transmitters. This will contribute to research that began in 1970! Both of these experiences give a new perspective into the work that goes into researching the bobwhite quail and tracking their journey through the Red Hills!

Kevin's Plantation Collection 20 Gauge Shotgun

The Kevin's Plantation Collection 20 Gauge is an elegant, finely finished over/under shotgun that combines classic upland styling with the craftsmanship and attention to detail expected from Kevin's Poli. Built as a refined field gun, this example is distinguished by its exceptional upgraded walnut stock, giving the shotgun rich figure, depth, and character.

Handcrafted in Italy by Fratelli Poli exclusively for Kevin's, the Plantation reflects the character of a true bespoke sporting gun.

The relationship with Kevin's

This is particularly relevant to the Kevin's Plantation Collection. Kevin Kelly discovered the Poli workshop in Gardone after previously having special-production guns made by Beretta. According to Shotgun Life, the relationship with the Poli brothers led to the creation of the Kevin's Plantation Collection around 2011. Poli had the ability to produce both individual bespoke guns and small runs of high-grade over/under and side-by-sides to Kevin's specifications.

That relationship became substantial. A recent Shooting Sportsman article describes Poli as a small custom shop now operated by Antonio and Tiziano and says the Kevin's side-by-sides and over/unders account for a large portion of Poli's production.

That makes a Kevin's Poli gun somewhat different from a normal private-label shotgun. Kevin's establishes the specifications and character of the gun, while the Poli brothers and their craftsmen in Gardone carry out the traditional Italian gunmaking, fitting and hand finishing.

The premium walnut stock receives an extensive traditional finishing process and is hand-rubbed with more than 30 coats of polish, producing a deep, lustrous finish that brings out the natural grain and figure of the XXX-grade wood. The stock is also hand checkered, adding both traditional visual appeal and a secure, comfortable gripping surface. Its classic Prince of Wales grip complements the graceful lines of the gun and provides excellent handling characteristics.

This Plantation Collection is built on an over/under action chambered for 3-inch 20-gauge shells. A single trigger provides straightforward operation, while interchangeable chokes allow the shotgun to be configured for a variety of upland and sporting applications.

The receiver features an elegant coin finish, creating a refined contrast against the deeply polished upgraded walnut. With a 14 3/4-inch length of pull and a well-balanced weight of 6.30 pounds, the Plantation Collection is light and responsive in the hands while retaining the smooth feel expected from a premium field shotgun.
