In 1931, Nancy Leadbetter opened the first Leadbetter's Bake Shop in Portland, Maine. Nearly a century and four generations later, Jamieson Leadbetter is revitalizing that family tradition-now in San Francisco's iconic Castro.

From 2009 to 2015, Leadbetter's Bake Shop built a devoted following in the Bay Area, with our fresh English muffins featured in markets like Whole Foods, Bi-Rite, and Rainbow Grocery, and enjoyed at local cafés across the city. Today, we're back on the griddle-small-batch baked daily-at our first retail store located here in the Castro.

Green Apple Books is a locally owned and independent bookstore on Clement Street serving San Francisco since 1967. They have another store - Green Apple Books on Park - on 9th Avenue between Lincoln and Irving. Their third store - Browser Books on Fillmore and Sacramento - has served the neighborhood over 45 years. All three stores offer a broad but carefully chosen selection of new and used books in all subject areas, plus CDs, DVDs, LPs, magazines, gifts, cards, games, journals, and more. Their children's and young adult sections are particularly strong.

Cole Hardware is a family-owned, full-service hardware store with four locations in San Francisco. Stores are located in the Cole Valley/Haight, SOMA-Downtown, North Beach, and Russian Hill neighborhoods of San Francisco.

The Cole Street flagship store has been in the heart of Cole Valley since the 1920s and has been owned and operated by the Karp family since 1959, when Dave Karp bought the location. Cole Hardware is a certified green business with San Francisco's Department of the Environment (and the first certified green hardware business in the United States!). In addition to offering all traditional hardware fare, such as tools, paint, building materials, keys, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning supplies, Cole Hardware stores also offer garden, plant, patio, housewares, and seasonal departments.
