Mark Nadler is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist, tap-dancer, and comedian whose career spans Broadway, off-Broadway, cabaret, and concert halls worldwide. His off-Broadway hit I'm a Stranger Here Myself earned a Drama Desk nomination and the 2013 Nightlife Award, and he has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops Orchestra and as a soloist with symphonies across the country. A multiple MAC, Bistro, Broadway World, and Bay Area Critics' Circle Award winner, his acclaimed one-man shows and revues, many created in partnership with KT Sullivan, span the Great American Songbook from Gershwin and Cole Porter to Irving Berlin and Sondheim. This beautiful salt glazed stoneware ovoid jug, made by the Swan and States Pottery at the end of Wall Street in Stonington Borough, dates from between 1826 and 1835. At that time, the pottery was being run by Ichabod B. States, grandson of the first potter, Adam States, and Joshua Swan. During this time, the pottery produced pots-jars, pitchers, jugs, and churns all stamped with the firm's name, like this one. Our house histories include a complete chain of title, social history of the people who have lived in your home, and a plaque that bears the name of the individual(s) who built it.

In the summer of 2023, Mystic Seaport Artist in Residence, Patrick O'Brien, created a painting of the Battle of Stonington using all the newest research that had been conducted in recent years. O'Brien spent time in the archives of Historic Stonington and interviewed local experts . New resources included recently digitized ships logs from British archives and other resources that held some discoveries about a new ship and damages sustained.

This painting sold the very evening it was revealed, but Historic Stonington was able to commission a small number of giclee prints from the artist. Each print is numbered and signed by Patrick O'Brien and provides a vivid historical interpretation of one of the most seminal battles in the War of 1812.

Print is 29" x 18.5" unframed.

It hosted legendary historical figures until its destruction in 1943.
