Daws was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive malignant brain tumor in 2021, beginning a difficult battle that included multiple brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. After years of fighting, Daws passed away in 2024.
In the years that followed, Stephanie found comfort and healing in baking sourdough, eventually turning that passion into Dawsey Boy Bakes. The bakery's name and logo are a loving tribute to Daws, and every bake carries a little piece of his story.
