Jill Savitt, the President and CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, is a human rights advocate with expertise in genocide and atrocity prevention. She assumed the role in March 2019, but has been involved with The Center since 2010 when she curated the Center's exhibit on global human rights.
Previously, Savitt was the Acting Director of the Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. The Center stimulates global action to prevent genocide and to catalyze an international response when it occurs.
In 2007, Savitt founded and directed Dream for Darfur, a high-profile advocacy campaign that pressed the Chinese government to take specific actions regarding the genocide in Darfur in the lead up to the 2008 Beijing Games. The New York Times Magazine profiled Savitt and the initiative.
Savitt was the Director of Campaigns at Human Rights First from 2001 to 2007, where her team ran the campaign to assist a group of retired military leaders to speak out against torture. The campaign also worked with Hollywood to present a more accurate portrayal of interrogation in movies and TV shows.
She began her career as a reporter for WAMU, the NPR affiliate in Washington, D.C. Savitt graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Jennifer Dorian is a high-energy, creative and compassionate leader who helps businesses, brands and teams evolve and grow for stronger results and longevity. Dorian led the successful brand pivot for cable network TNT to "We Know Drama" resulting in 5 years of #1 network ratings. She then set up TBS for success with "Very Funny" and then went on to run Turner Classic Movies and their extensions into the travel business, film festivals and a streaming service for arthouse films.
Dorian has worked in brand marketing from Pizza Hut to Coca-Cola to cable TV and also nonprofit messaging and organizing.
Since 2021, Dorian has committed her skills and energy to public media, leading Atlanta's choice for NPR, PBS and local news and story telling at WABE. She oversees WABE 90.1FM, WABE TV and wabe.org. Dorian is raising expectations and funds for the station as they "double down on the ATL" and ramp up local programming to fulfill WABE's mission to inform, inspire, reflect, and empower the greater Atlanta community.
Dorian holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA from Emory University. She currently serves on the boards of The Atlanta History Center, The Atlanta Music Project and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. Dorian served previously on the boards of the Path Foundation and The Atlanta Beltline Partnership.
Dorian's work has earned her numerous accolades throughout her career. Brand Week Magazine named Dorian a "Brand Builder" in 2003. Dorian was recognized as one of Working Mother Magazine's "Working Mother of the Year" in 2017. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Marketing Association Atlanta chapter in 2019 and frequents the lists of the Georgia Trend "Georgia 500" and Atlanta Magazine's "Atlanta 500." Dorian is a Poynter Institute Fellow for 2025, and she dedicates this chapter of her career to supporting local journalism and raising funds for professional, independent, nonprofit reporting.
