I painted Island Sunset to create a peaceful yet vibrant scene that captures how the bold natural beauty of the flowers like the spider lillies, yellow hibiscus and red ginger give the feeling of our tactile life, while the distant island and sunrise rays give the sense of serenity, and awe-inspiring natural wonder that we can observe and feel emotionally. I always try to emphasize the harmony between the land, sea and sky. With these elements working so closely together it brings a feeling of hope to wash off the days problems and prepare for the beautiful and gentle start of tomorrows new day.
