While many of the zoo residents use their feet and hooves to create their masterpieces, Benjamin and Akayla take another approach and use their tongues and mouths to create works of art.

Giraffes have well-developed lips and a prehensile tongue that allows them to eat the leaves of the thorny acacia tree. Even though most animals avoid the foliage of the tree, giraffes have specialized adaptations to eat the prickly leaves.
