Dr. Soraya M. Coley
Dr. Coley served as the sixth president of Cal Poly Pomona for more than a decade, becoming the university's first woman and first African American president. Under her leadership, Cal Poly Pomona earned recognition as the most diverse polytechnic university in the country and as a national leader in promoting social and economic mobility. Prior to Cal Poly Pomona, Dr. Coley held senior leadership positions at California State University (CSU) Bakersfield and Cal State Fullerton, as well as at Alliant International University. With more than 40 years in higher education, she has championed inclusive excellence and inspired countless women to lead with vision and integrity.
