Legacy Illuminated, honors the Zook LEGACY Campaign
R. Harold Zook is the creative visionary behind much of Hinsdale's architectural identity, leaving behind a legacy of design
that has defined the community's aesthetic for generations. To honor this history, the Zook Legacy Campaign was launched to breathe new life into his original 1924 home and studio through a thoughtful adaptive reuse project. Despite being vacant for two decades, the structure has been well-preserved by the Society and is now being transformed into Zook Commons. Situated within the beautiful Katherine Legge Memorial Park, this new space will serve as a vibrant hub where residents can connect, celebrate local heritage, and focus on community well-being.
- A dog friendly cafe offering pastries, light bites and specialized coffees in a friendly and inviting space built for strengthening human connection and fostering community.
- A museum space serving as the repository for Zook archives and artifacts, as well as open exhibit/program space.
- A hub for enrichment and collaboration, where the arts, history, conversation and education meet.
A portion of the Hinsdale Kitchen Walk proceeds will go to the Zook Legacy Campaign.
