I'm a multidisciplinary artist and visual storyteller drawn to working with spiritual care, playful design, and the unexpected connections between art and everyday life.
For this chair, I imagined what it would look like if "007" became a secret mission showing the shadow work (behind the scenes) of the seats we get to take.

James Bond is such a timeless world, the martini glass, London, playing cards, helicopters, and other spy-inspired symbols, all are childlike in black, silver, and gold. There are lots of agents who make play possible.

To me, the chair celebrates the spirit of ClackCoKids: when circumstances change and the mission seems impossible, beautiful people get creative, adapt, and find a way forward.

The theme was agents of change so I chose the 007 style. One of my favorite scenes is James Bond racing the DB5 Aston Martin!

My Agent of Change that I focused on is Dolly Parton. I love her song, Coat of Many Colors. I took the idea of her coat and painted the seat of the chair in a patchwork design using the seat cushion that I pieced together. I'm calling my chair, "Chair of Many Colors."

Agent of Change: A Reflection on Transformation

When I think of the theme Agent of Change, I think of transformation, growth, and the beauty of becoming.
My piece draws inspiration from the elegant, flowing lines of Art Nouveau, a style commonly represented in the 007 lifestyle. At its center, a woman's face gently opens to reveal a radiant sun, with an eye gazing back at the beholder. This symbolizes the beauty of self-discovery, the awakening of inner potential, and the idea that meaningful change often begins from within.

Below, the Luna moth represents another beautiful form of transformation and metamorphosis, much like the changes we witness throughout nature. Through its journey from caterpillar to moth, it embodies growth, renewal, and the extraordinary beauty that can emerge through change. Its delicate wings also symbolize the vulnerability and courage that often accompany transformation.

Together, these elements celebrate the ever-changing nature of life and the beauty of embracing our own evolution. Change is not simply about becoming something different, but about discovering what has been waiting to emerge all along.

This chair, painted by Emma Berger, beautifully embodies the Agents of Change theme through its imagery of growth, transformation, and hope. The vibrant blue backdrop, heart-shaped cutout, and hand-painted flowers create a piece that is both functional and symbolic.

This hand-painted chair is both a striking piece of art and a reminder that lasting change often begins with a hopeful vision and a heart committed to making a difference.
