ABOUT EMMY
At 9.5 months old, Emmy was admitted to Arkansas Children's Hospital for severe dehydration and a chemical burn requiring wound care. Her parents, Tyler and Madeline, say the compassionate care team made a scary time bearable, bringing toys and books, offering meals, and with one nurse checking in daily even when not assigned to Emmy's care. Emmy has no ongoing treatment and is thriving. Smart, loving and sassy, she adores her baby dolls and eagerly awaits her baby sister's arrival.

ABOUT ALFREDO
At age 7, Alfredo was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He underwent chemotherapy, radiation and a bone marrow transplant at Arkansas Children's Hospital. His mom, Amy, says the nurses, child life specialists and social workers made an incredibly difficult time more bearable. Alfredo continues treatment for a cataract and a neurocognitive disorder but faces every challenge with bravery. Friendly, goofy and competitive, he loves choir, riding his bike and playing video games.

ABOUT SAGE
At 3 years old, Sage fell and injured her chin and was rushed to the Emergency Department at Arkansas Children's Northwest (ACNW), where she received 13 stitches. Her parents were so thankful ACNW was close by and say the ED was full with just one doctor on duty, but they treated their daughter as if she were their only patient. Sage has a small scar from her accident, but that doesn't stop her from being a curious toddler who loves princesses, airplanes, crafting and gardening.

ABOUT MURRY
At age 5, Murry has received life-saving oxygen multiple times at Arkansas Children's due to upper respiratory complications. His family says the nurses and doctors always made him feel at ease, and Child Life brought toys and books to comfort him. Even the nebulizer was designed like an animal. Murry is a bubbly kid with a bounce in his step, who loves reading, Legos, drawing, music, ocean animals, telling jokes and playing make believe with his little brother, Ford.

ABOUT TEDDY
At 2 years old, Teddy was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and was admitted to Arkansas Children's Hospital. His parents say the care team made an impossibly scary time feel manageable, walking them through every step of his new diagnosis with patience and never leaving them to face it alone. Teddy is a brave, caring and fun boy who continues to receive support from Arkansas Children's. T1D has never slowed him down!

ABOUT HADLEY
At 2.5 years old, Hadley was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis affecting both knees and her right ring finger. She has undergone multiple rounds of steroid injections, physical therapy and ongoing lab work and is currently in medicated remission. Staff at Arkansas Children's always cheer her on through treatments and make her feel comfortable. A true social butterfly, who never lets her diagnosis slow her down, Hadley is obsessed with dinosaurs, and loves swimming, gymnastics and riding her bike.
