Join sculptor and printmaker Bruce Mitchell for a block printing workshop for four at his private studio in stunning Inverness, CA. Participants will learn basic block printing techniques, with a major focus on creating images using the artist's custom-made wood blocks!

About the Instructor: Bruce Mitchell began his career in wood sculpture at age 19 when he assisted his future mentor JB Blunk in creating the redwood burl seating sculpture titled PLANET for the Oakland Museum of Art in 1969. After opening his own studio in 1977, Bruce began creating sculpture, vessels, benches and tables that have become the mainstay of his practice. In 2019 he was inspired to begin painting with acrylic inks on rice paper. Then in 2024, Bruce expanded his interest in creating works on paper by making a group of woodblocks that have given him a whole new pattern language to explore.
