This waterfront home has four bedrooms, four baths, and can easily accommodate 11 guests. With a bright, open floorplan and a sunroom that spans the entire length of the water side of the house, guests can enjoy stunning views of the creek. The home's outdoor space is simply unparalleled and features an expansive covered deck with furniture, a floating dock - ideal for fishing or sunbathing - a fire pit, gas grill and gazebo. Guests can launch their boats at Sam's Point Boat Landing, which is just down the road, and bring them to the dock during your stay.
The kitchen, living room, and sunroom are located on the second level of the home. The cooks in your party are sure to enjoy the kitchen with its granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and gas range with electric oven. The table in the dining area can comfortably seat eight. Should you choose to dine outdoors, the covered deck has a table that seats six, as well as a gas grill and flat top. After dinner, your group can take in a movie on the wall-mounted, flat screen TV above the gas fireplace in the living room, with seating for five with room to add chairs. The living room flows directly into the sunroom, with its expansive wall of windows that look out onto spectacular views of Lucy Creek.
At the end of a busy day exploring, guests can retire for the evening in one of four bedrooms. There is a king-sized master bedroom with a flat-screen TV, a set of bay windows with lovely river views and an ensuite bathroom with jetted tub and separate shower on the second floor. There is a queen-sized bedroom on this level, along with a full bath across the hall. $100A Discovery Flight with Eagle Aviation is designed to help you understand what flying is about and all that is involved. The Discovery Flight will actually be your very first loggable flight lesson and possibly the beginning of a lifelong passion. This lesson is approximately 1 hour long and shall consist of 30 minutes in a Cessna 172SP and 30 minutes of pre-flight and post-flight briefing with your instructor.
The FAA certified flight instructor that you will be flying with will first review with you what will be taking place during the lesson and specific procedures that must be followed during the lesson. The instructor will also want to get to know you and what your goals are in aviation.
Now the fun part comes, FLYING! In the airplane you will start, taxi, take off, and help land it. You will be guided through several basic maneuvers. After landing the instructor will review with you what you have accomplished during the flight and is willing to answer any questions or comments you may have. Your success is our goal!

Growing up on Lake Murray, Jay has always enjoyed wildlife and the outdoors. After graduating from the College of Charleston in 2000, he worked in the private sector but always maintained a connection to the outdoors. His life took an unexpected turn in the summer of 2012 when he saw a Baltimore oriole for the first time. Since then, he spends most of his free time birding, learning about birds, and studying their various habitat needs. In 2014, he attended his first SCWF birding class. Inspired by SCWF's mission, he earned his Palmetto Pro Birder certification, and has led bird walks for SCWF as well as Saluda Shoals Park, Columbia Audubon, and private organizations. Even when he is golfing, hunting, or fishing, he is secretly birding. At SCWF, Jay coordinates the Wildlife and Industry Together (WAIT) program leads birding classes for the Palmetto Pro Birder & Midlands Master Naturalist programs. He has a passion and love for all wildlife and hopes to inspire others to take a closer look at the life within our amazing planet.
About Chris Keck
Chris has been on the culinary scene for over 20 years in Charleston, SC, as well as in Chicago, IL and Boulder, CO. He has had a passion for creating and enjoying good food since a young age watching his mother in her small catering business, then in the culinary city of Charleston in college, and then he further heightened his palate from domestic and international travel thereafter particularly Spain and New Zealand.
After experience as sous chef, executive catering chef, and executive chef, in 2019 he stepped away from the restaurant setting and opened a personal chef business called The Healthy Palate. He now offers personalized meal preps, private dinners, catering, and personal chef services in the Charleston area.

After finishing his studio art courses at the University, rather than pursuing graduate studies, Parise purchased a Charles Brandt Etching Press and opened his own etching studio where he started making original prints.

Gathered Around the Plate by Liz List is the winner of SCWF's 2026 Forks, Knives, & Spoonbills art contest. This annual statewide competition invites local artists to design unique artwork featuring the six imperiled wildlife species highlighted in the year's conservation dinner series. This year's featured species include the Eastern whip-poor-will, golden-winged warbler, green heron, prairie warbler, yellow-billed cuckoo, and of course, the roseate spoonbill, whose conservation story inspired this dinner series.
About the winning image:
Because I work from photos, half the challenge is to be in the right place at the right time to capture an image that I can transform into a painting. The other half of the challenge is also the fun part. Painting often takes me right back to those precious encounters with birds and nature. My love of birds began when I was in the 8th grade and first experienced bird watching with my science teacher. I am especially fond of Canada Geese because they remind me of childhood trips to Horicon Marsh in Wisconsin to view the geese in migration.
When it comes to painting, I am fascinated by reflections and inspired by textures. In my "real life" job, I teach art at our state school for the blind, and much of my work involves using tactile materials that enable my students to experience art through their sense of touch. When I paint, I like to challenge myself to represent textures such as water, feathers, wood, and rocks simply through brushstrokes and layers of color. The common ground between my career as a teacher and my ambitions as an artist is my love of learning. Each new painting offers me another opportunity to grow, and this contest provided a challenge to consider the bird images as part of a design apart from their natural habitat. In this case, I chose to represent them gathered around a plate.

As a child, Chelle would spend hours watching animal nature shows. How they lived, ate, acted, and socialized fascinated her. The day her step-father gave her a set of colored pencils was the day she began trying to duplicate those animals on paper. Without her knowledge, the small gift he had given her was the key to unlocking an untapped passion for art.
Her love for art continued into Middle School and High School where she learned to draw with charcoal and pastels. Later on she would graduate into experimenting with paints, both acrylics and oils. It was not until she married that Chelle started painting seriously, seeking to bring personality and individuality into each piece she created.
On a mission trip to Sri Lanka, Chelle was inspired once again as she took photos of elephants at an elephant orphanage. After a two year wait, due to work and raising children, those same photos became the reference points for some of her most recent works.
Chelle lives in Charleston, SC with her husband, Mahmood, and her two sons, Evan and Julian. She professes that Mahmood has been her greatest challenger and encourager. No work is complete until she has received his feedback and they agree together on the finished piece.

Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, Michael Story was encouraged to draw in his childhood. His family relocated to South Carolina where Story earned his BFA in Fine Art from the University of South Carolina in 1975. He later traveled to New York, studying oil and pastel painting under internationally known artist, Daniel Greene.
Artist Statement:
Art and music are rooted in my family history. My great uncle and grandmother were jazz musicians and my grandfather, who was a professional artist, was my first teacher. From a very young age, I knew that I only wanted to be an artist so I feel fortunate to have always been encouraged by my family to follow that dream.
Having lived in the south most of my adult life, I've often found inspiration for my art by traveling the coastal waterways and interior vistas stretching from North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. I love exploring the interconnections where land and water meet. People want to be near water, both real and imagined, as it exudes a calm that seems magical. In the studio, I've discovered that sense of calm often transcends the painting process when water is incorporated into the composition.

About Jim:
Jim Harrison's journey as an artist began when he first climbed onto a sign painter's scaffold on the side of McCartha's Hardware in Denmark, South Carolina. The Coca-Cola sign that he worked on that day with his mentor, J. J. Cornforth, was the first of more than 100 similar signs he painted over the next few years and shaped the future work of this South Carolinian in many ways.
An established artist and writer, Harrison has more than 100 limited edition reproductions to his name. Reminiscent of his earlier experiences as a sign painter, his work is known for chronicling earlier twentieth century rural life. His strong feelings for rural America touched on every aspect of earlier ways of living, and his subjects -- railroad stations, churches, one room schoolhouses, country stores, covered bridges, and farm buildings -- representing the spirit of an agrarian society.
