Casa Scale: Italy Retreat
Live ItemSeeking a week of Mediterranean tranquility? Discover the beauty, history, and timeless charm of Tuscany with a one-week stay at Casa Scale, part of Borgo di Recenza, an ancient village nestled in the wooded Sienese countryside just outside Siena, Italy.
Accommodating up to six guests, this exceptional retreat offers an authentic opportunity to experience one of Italy's most celebrated regions.
Overlooking the historic manor house, Casa Scale is a charming complex of rustic stone apartments that has been thoughtfully restored while preserving its traditional character. "Summer Picnic"
$135If there were ever a painting that embodied the summer glow and buzz of a backyard, it would be this one.
Summer Picnic, an original plein air oil painting on Gessobord panel by Chincoteague Island artist Nancy Richards West, captures a delightful moment as a dragonfly enjoys its own little picnic atop a slice of watermelon. This cheerful piece will add a splash of warmth and color to any bookcase or accent wall.
Nancy captures wildlife across many species through mixed-media paintings, though birds remain her most frequent subjects. She attributes her "... ability to capture the 'spirit' of birds" to her training in portraiture: "Looking beyond the surface, studying my subjects in depth, taking cues from the environment, and setting the mood with lighting and color choices are aspects of my wildlife paintings that set them apart."
Dimensions: 8" x 10", unframed
