$5000 - This past season we offered Pay What You Choose performances for every mainstage production, because we believe financial means should not be a barrier to experiencing theatre at VSC. We were delighted to have 906 people join us for a pay what you choose performance this year, with an average ticket price of $12. That is a total subsidy of over $30,000! Your gift of $5,000 underwrites approximately 130 Pay What You Choose tickets.

For a donation of $2500, you can support the essential services that make VSC accessible to everyone.

For every production in our season, VSC is committed to having a performance with at least two ASL interpreters, and open captioning for our deaf and hard of hearing patrons. For our low-vision patrons, we also offer a show with audio description services. We will be offering Theatre for Everyone, our sensory friendly performances, for two productions next season.

For only $1,000 you can help fund, A Little Dramatic, a new Education program at VSC.

An interactive program designed for Pre-K through 1st grade students. This program uses creative drama to bring literacy to life. A Little Dramatic supports reading comprehension, vocabulary development, narrative understanding, and essential social-emotional learning skills such as empathy, self-awareness, and collaboration.

At $500, you can thank veterans and their family members for their years of service to our country with tickets to a VSC production.

VetTix is one of the greatest programs at the theatre that you've probably never heard about. This program provides tickets to active duty and veterans and their family members to help them have positive family and life experiences. These experiences can help with reintegration opportunities and family bonding. Tickets are provided completely free of charge to the recipients. Your $500 donation will help underwrite roughly 10 tickets.

A $250 donation will fund a workshop with a teaching artist from VSC in a classroom or another public space in and around Hampton Roads.

VSC theater professionals work one-on-one and in group settings with students, and in conjunction with educators' own lesson plans and standards of learning to make those lessons come alive.

These workshops include pre and post-show workshops for all grades to provide context and deepen learning around the production and themes along with giving students an idea of what to expect when they attend a show.

A donation of $100 will help underwrite tickets for 5 students to attend a Student Matinee.

If you asked any staff member what their favorite kind of performance is, hands down, the answer would be Student Matinees. The energy in the theatre is electric on those days, and there is nothing like seeing students experience live theatre, often for the first time. For many of these kids, a Student Matinee is life-changing.

In Season 48, we will have Student Matinee performances for all of our productions.

Before we begin the bidding, we have a special incentive for this level. The last person to raise their paddle for $100 will be the lucky winner of four tickets to the Edgar Allan Poe Masquerade Ball! This partnership between Virginia Stage Company and CORE Theatre Ensemble will take place right here on this stage on Halloween night.
