• Children under four years of age are discouraged from flying on the blimp, and all children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
• All airship passengers must be fully ambulatory and without physical impairment(s) that could prevent them from moving quickly at the direction of the pilot or ground crew. Due to weigh limitations of the boarding equipment, all passengers are required to weigh in on the day of their scheduled flight and must not exceed 330 pounds.

The certificate for the ride expires August 7, 2028. Due to the airship's schedule, dates for passenger flights are highly variable. As dates become available, Goodyear will contact registered passengers to schedule their flight.

Do you think you could land a plane? Test your skills as a pilot in one of Kent State University College of Aeronautics and Engineering's flight simulators. You will be guided through the simulated flight by an experienced and credited flight instructor at any airport through various weather conditions. Simulated flight accommodates up to 2 individuals.

In 2017, Curious Creatures at the Akron Zoo opened to the public. This habitat allowed guests to view animals such as naked mole-rats, electric eels, leaf cutter ants, and a giant Pacific octopus.

This special Chameleon was placed on the wall of Curious Creatures for guests to interact with.

Guests could place their hands against the mosaic tiles and hold it there for a few seconds. When they removed their hands, the color tiles changed based on the warmth of their hand.

This piece is a rare and one-of-a-kind special piece. Priceless.

Take an exclusive behind the scenes tour of our Komodo Dragon habitat to learn about the care practices and inner workings of the zoo's Komodo Dragon. Tour the Komodo Dragon's bedroom and have an opportunity to place eggs on habitat for the dragon to find.

This experience can host up to four (4) guests over the age of 8 years old.

Experience must be scheduled at least four weeks in advance and take place on a mutually agreed upon date. Expires December 31, 2027.

Take home this very special piece of the Akron Zoo, African Lion, Tamarr's model clay paw print.

Tamarr was 20 years old when he passed away in 2025, and he was the second oldest male lion in a zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The median life expectancy for lions is 16 years, 9 months.

Tamarr was born on August 25, 2005 at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado. He moved to the Akron Zoo in 2007, which he quickly become a fan favorite and icon. He was known for his fun personality, loud roars and his beautiful mane.

"I remember when Tamarr first arrived at the Akron Zoo with just a mohawk," said Doug Piekarz, president & CEO at the Akron Zoo. "He grew into an amazing lion who captured the hearts of both staff and guests. Tamarr was a wonderful ambassador for lions and the Akron Zoo. I am grateful to our animal and vet care staff who provided Tamarr with exceptional care through the years. He will be missed by us all."
