"My cut paper collages reflect my need to simplify while at the same time appreciate the beauty of even the most minute aspects found in nature: intricately detailed subjects, combined with bursts of color, made by cutting away all that is unnecessary."

"Art is a part of every aspect of my life. Whether it be how I tell an otherwise mundane story, capturing a unique perspective with my camera, sending homemade 'snailmail' salutations, sewing personalized 'woobies' for newborns, loved ones, and the elderly, or decorating the spaces I occupy. I started watercoloring in early 2025 after receiving a starter kit from a dear friend. This progressed to the medium of colored pencils and has become a part of my peace, meditation, and personal therapy. The last 3 years have been exceptionally difficult and challenging in my personal life (as well as the world in general!). Additionally, my career exposes me to the darkness of what humans do to one another. Sitting with pencils and paper, a camera, a pen, or thread and fabric allows my brain to quiet for a little bit and give my mind some respite.
