Teacher Events are only available to sign up for at the Spring Social.
4th-8th Graders! Join us for Hawthorne Karaoke Night, a fun and music-filled afternoon in the auditorium from 4:00-5:30 PM! This 90-minute event is open to students who purchase a ticket to attend. Students will enjoy singing along to pre-selected, school-appropriate songs as a group and will also have the opportunity to sign up to sing individually or with friends. No prior experience is needed! This event is all about having fun, building confidence, and celebrating music together. Light snacks will be provided, and students will be supervised by Ms. Barajas for the duration of the event.

In this escape room game, AP McCabe has locked the doors to the building and won't let us out until we solve her puzzles. Can the students work together to escape before time runs out? They will need strong communication, keen observation, critical thinking, and collaborative teamwork to solve AP McCabe's tricks and riddles.

Back by popular demand, the annual HSA Hurri-kegger is coming back for its sophomore season! Moms and Dads, please join us for a house crawl (the hosts live on the same block in Roscoe Village) that will bring you back in time to your college days. Kegs. Jungle juice. Jell-O shots. Solo cups. Koozies. Jams from the late 90s/early 00's. First, the Cagney's will host us for a "wheel of spirits" before we head over to the Mrjenovich house for flip cup & foosball. We'll end the night at the Breymaier house with some beer pong and late night pizza. Guests will each bring home a koozie commemorating the occasion. Don't forget to get into the spirit by wearing gear from your alma mater! 40 spots available. NOTE: Please purchase one ticket per person (two tickets per couple).

The Matrix 25 Years Later -- Dinner/ Movie and Big Tech Discussion The Matrix will be presented on a 130"+ Projector screen, Blu-ray in 7.1 Dolby HD Audio. At the dawn of the internet in 1999 before smart phones and AI the Matrix offered a startling view of an AI Machine controlled future. The age is here as devices have altered our reality. Watch the ground breaking film and then discuss the themes. Parents can drop their kids off or are welcome to join this event.

Help your child unwind, recharge, and reconnect after a long day of school with our fun and supportive Youth Yoga class. Designed for all experience levels, this class introduces the foundations of Vinyasa yoga, where students learn how to link breath with movement in a smooth, flowing sequence. Participants will explore beginner-friendly Vinyasa poses, build strength and flexibility, and develop focus and body awareness in a welcoming environment. Through guided breathing techniques and mindful movement, students will learn simple tools to manage stress, boost confidence, and improve overall well-being. The session ends with a calming wind-down and relaxation period, helping students leave feeling centered, refreshed, and ready for the rest of their day. No prior yoga experience needed- just bring a mat, comfortable clothes, and an open mind!

The 8th graders will have "set sail" from Hawthorne, but it's the perfect time for 8th grade parents to keep Hawthorne bonds alive. Eighth grade parents will enjoy food and drinks on the waters of beautiful Lake Michigan aboard sailboat Antibes. Evening activities will be approximately 4 hours - part of the time at the Chicago dock and part of the time on the lake. Sit back and relax - you've earned it!
