Since 2017, Curtis had been the 14U and 11U head girls' basketball coach for the Junior Astros, where he has maintained a record of 20+ win seasons and was instrumental in leading the team through individual and group skill development. This year, Coach DeJarld enters her 21st season as Head Coach of the Mighty Mac Volleyball program of Mother McAuley High School. She has been coaching Volleyball at Mother McAuley for the past 26 years. DeJarld has led the program to seven tournament appearances, including its latest State Championship in 2023.

DeJarld was named 2016 National Coach of the Year by Prep Volleyball and Coach of the Year by The Daily Southtown. In 2013, DeJarld coached the McAuley Mighty Macs to the Illinois 4A Championship. Then in 2014, the Mighty Macs, which featured both of DeJarld's daughters - Ryann and Jane - finished the season ranked 7th nationally. That year DeJarld was honored as "Coach of the Year" for her efforts. She also was selected to present at the Men's NCAA Final Four convention in Chicago on the topic of serving to score. Jen has twice been a presenter for The Art of Coaching Clinic.

As a former Mighty Mac Volleyball player herself, Coach DeJarld won two state titles in 1984 and 1985 and went on to play at the collegiate level at the University of Iowa, coached by Ruth Nelson.

Ellie graduated from Mother McAuley in 2024 after playing varsity all four years. Ellie led McAuley to two IHSA 4A state championships and was recognized as the GCAC Conference Player of the Year in 2023. Ellie was also recognized as a Two-time Illinois State Gatorade Player of the Year. She was a four-time GCAC All-Conference First team awardee, and Prepvolleyball Player of the Year in 2023.

Ellie has completed her second season playing volleyball for the University of Michigan and is working towards a degree in Occupational Therapy.

About Midlothian Country Club
Originally designed by well-known course architect Herbert J. Tweedie, Midlothian was the first privately owned club established South of Chicago. The original club included a nine hole auxiliary course. Members and their families had to score 72 or less on the practice course before they were allowed to play the main 18-hole course.

The original clubhouse and the surrounding cottages became a summer colony for dozens of members and their families. Transportation was such a concern in the early days that the club replaced horse drawn "Tally-Ho" wagons with its own railroad. The small locomotive and two passenger coaches made 14 trips daily along the 3 mile system, making Midlothian the only golf club in the world, other than St. Andrews in Scotland, to own its own railroad.

Many amateur and professional tournaments have been contested at Midlothian over the years. Walter Hagen defeated Chick Evans to win the 1914 U.S. Open at Midlothian - the first of his 11 major championships. South African Bobby Locke won the Chicago Victory National Open in 1948 and Billy Casper won Western Opens at Midlothian in 1969 and 1973.
