AboutAmanda Stevenson is a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of Community College of Philadelphia, Rochester Institute of Technology and Pennsylvania Academy Of The Fine Arts. Amanda has logged over 35 years of professional photographic experience throughout the US and across the globe. She uses light effectively to enhance her clients' goals, be they portraits, stuffed animals for children's catalogues or models holding cans of beer for highway billboards. Despite her professional proficiency, she was unsatisfied with a career that began as a twelve year old with an Instamatic camera and by fifteen was rising in the dark to capture the dawn light on the Schuylkill River. Throughout her work as a photographer she seemed to be trying to paint with a camera, using increasing complex arrangements of different colored lights to add depth and character to static forms. While her skills were sufficient for a professional career, she came to find the limitations of the photographic medium confining as a means of personal expression and has been exploring with the digital medium and software to enhance her whimsical imagery.
