This paperback book is about a historic telling of the family history involved in the development of the Steamer Santiago de Cuba, its history, and its use in commercial trade beteween Cuba and the United States. The book also narrates its use during the Civil War between the Southern States and the Northern States. The ship was used to blockade ships attempting to send supplies to the Southern States. After the Civil War, the SS Santiago de Cuba returned to passenger service, from the United States to South and Central America and to Northern Europe.
