Kristins Krew fights to end Cancer

GOAL

My cancer journey began unexpectedly and quickly became a test of resilience. I underwent chemotherapy at Blue Ridge Cancer Center, followed by surgeries and 32 rounds of radiation at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Along the way, I faced difficult setbacks, including infections and the flu, which challenged both my strength and patience. Ultimately, I made the decision to undergo a double mastectomy as part of my fight. My treatment also included a full year of Keytruda, adding another layer to an already intense journey.

Through every step-the physical toll, the unexpected complications, and the emotional weight-I kept moving forward, determined to come out stronger on the other side.

My story matters because it is a reflection of what so many are facing right now-and a reminder of how critical research, access to care, and advanced treatments truly are. The therapies and expertise that carried me through this year exist because of ongoing support and funding. Supporting the American Cancer Society means giving more people a fighting chance, improving outcomes, and continuing to push toward a future where stories like mine are no longer the norm.
