Matt Campbell became the 17th head coach in the storied history of Penn State Football on December 8, 2025. At his introductory press conference he said, "I am incredibly honored to join Penn State University as its next head football coach. This is one of the blue bloods of college football, and this program's history and tradition are unmatched. I look forward to building on that foundation by developing student-athletes on and off the field, competing for championships and continuing the legacy of excellence that defines Penn State."

Framed photograph of the 2008 match-up between Penn State (ranked #12) and Illinois (ranked #22) on Sept. 27. Wide receiver Derrick Williams had an historic night, accumulating 241 all-purpose yards. He became the first player n the Joe Paterno era to score a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and a kick return touchdown in the same game. Penn State won 38-24 and the game propelled the team forward to ultimately become the 2008 Big Ten Conference Champions (noted on plaque on frame) earning them a trip to the Rose Bowl.
