College years were spent in design classes creating fashion-forward clothes. Upon graduating, JoAnn moved to New York City where she began her career working for various fashion houses. After marrying and having three children, JoAnn began taking local painting classes at Greenwich Art Society, Greenwich Historical Society and Silvermine Art School in Norwalk.

The table was made by Northeast Hardwood, a local artisan with a workshop on Noroton Avenue in Darien, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece rooted in the community.
