Ken Benson has been coaching skating for more than 35 years. As a high level competitive skater and coach, he still enjoys teaching all ages and levels of skaters who are discovering the joy of recreational and competitive figure skating.

The Sky Rink in Chelsea Piers overlooks the Hudson River in New York City. It is the base of operations for an international group of coaches, some with national, world, and Olympic qualifications.

Lessons will be given on available times during General session and do not include admission or skate rentals.

Rachel Barker-Asto is passionate about teaching singing music lessons in a fun, yet systematic way. She celebrates each student's personal gifts and way of being in the world. As a child, Rachel was that student that had a natural interest in music, but found the mechanics and day to day practice difficult. Through many talented teachers and the support of her parents, she persisted and has found joy in helping her own students find joy in the pursuit of learning and performing music. Since graduating from Westminster Choir College with a Master's in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance, she has developed a studio that approaches music from a wholistic singing perspective. She excels in teaching music theatre and classical singing styles. Rachel has also been developing a career as a performer. She has been praised for her "bel canto chops, with a bright, lyric coloratura sound." In August 2018, Rachel sang the American premier of Salieri's La Cifra in New York City with Dell'arte Opera Ensemble. Other roles include Queen of the Night, Adina, Pamina, Drusilla, Gilda, and Susannah. She has been a participant in the Caramoor Festival under the direction of musicologist Will Crutchfield, studying and performing operas from the bel canto period. Rachel is a frequent recitalist, often focusing on music from the 20th and 21st centuries. Performances with chamber groups include The Sebastians and The Paramount Chambers Players. Other solo engagements include various oratorio works such as Barber's Prayers of Kierkegaard, Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and Brahm's Ein Deutches Requiem.

Science Teacher Sarah is an experienced, dynamic teacher who has made a very conscious decision to teach children outside of the traditional realm.

Knowing that science is the key to explaining how everything works, she found a way to combine facts and experiments, suitable for children of all levels. She teaches theory in a way everyone can understand and, with hands-on projects, reinforces concepts in a way everyone enjoys. For more than a decade, she has honed her technique, sparking a newfound love of science in children of all ages.

More than just science, Sarah teaches respect and manners. When students show an attempt at manners, they are rewarded with a good behavior prize. She believes that positive reinforcement is the best way to mold young minds and turns that belief into action in the classroom.

As a fellow Baruch Mom and professional woodwind musician, I am so excited to donate a 60-minute private clarinet lesson to our school's Spring Break auction! Whether you have a student clarinetist looking to level up or you're an adult enthusiast who has always wanted to pick up the instrument, this is a flexible session.

I am currently performing in the orchestra of the Broadway musical Chess at the Imperial Theatre, and my career has included performing in the pits of seven Broadway shows, including favorites like Wicked and The Lion King.

This one-hour lesson will be held in-person in the Flatiron District and can be tailored entirely to your goals-whether that's refining tone, mastering technical repertoire, or simply sharing "inside the pit" stories from the Great White Way.

This donation is valid for one year from the auction date, and I'm really looking forward to sharing what I love with a member of our school community.
