Goldie is a spicy, fun little girl with a big personality and an even bigger story. Born at just 25 weeks and weighing only 1 pound, 11 ounces, she spent 114 days in the Baptist NICU overcoming significant medical challenges, including bilateral grade 3 brain bleeds. She was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but from the very beginning, Goldie has shown a determination that cannot be measured by a diagnosis. Our family thanks God daily for the blessing that is Goldie.
Just one month after coming home, Goldie began outpatient therapy at Easterseals Arkansas through the Infant and High Risk Monitoring Program (IHRMP). In August 2023, she began attending the Easterseals Developmental Preschool (LRDP), where her therapists and teachers quickly became some of her biggest champions. With the support of this extraordinary team, Goldie has continued to grow, gain strength, and thrive. She currently receives occupational, physical, developmental, and feeding therapies - and has already graduated from speech therapy. Their expertise, patience, and unwavering belief in Goldie have helped her reach milestones once thought to be far away. Every step forward is a testament not only to Goldie's grit, but also to the life-changing impact of Easterseals' early intervention and therapeutic services.
Goldie is thrilled to take the runway at the Easterseals Fashion Show. She loves dressing up, showing her spicy personality, and celebrating just how far she's come with the support of her therapists, teachers, and family. Goldie's journey is a powerful reminder of what's possible when children and families are met with expert care, compassion, and opportunity. Your support of Easterseals ensures that children like Goldie continue to receive the therapies, encouragement, and belief they need to thrive.
