Assistant Principal for a Day!

Here's your big chance to step into leadership and spend a day helping run Kiva as the Assistant Principal!

Start the morning by greeting students and parents at the gates, then make your debut on the daily announcements where you'll be introduced as the Assistant Principal for the day and share a few words of wisdom with the school.

Throughout the day you'll visit classrooms, say hello to students, and hand out coveted blue and yellow tickets to recognize great behavior. You'll also spend time helping students with their work, reading to our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes, and checking in on the fun during cafeteria and recess supervision.

Enjoy a big lunch of your choice in the office conference room with the office staff before heading out for an afternoon of classroom visits, cart rides, time with friends, and more.

Wrap up your special day by sending everyone home with a thank you message over the all-call system. This experience will be redeemed together with the Principal for a Day winner.

Make dirt cups with Mrs. Martinez! It will be an after-school experience where you'll make chocolate dirt cups with gummy worms, do a science activity and play a game. Pre-K through 3rd Grade welcome. Limit 5 students.

On a calm Monday afternoon (date TBD), Ms. Paschal's classroom turns into a small, relaxed ice cream hangout for four lucky students. Desks are pushed together, and there's an easy mix of conversation and laughter as everyone builds their own sundaes. Ms. Paschal keeps things simple and fun, offering toppings and a bit of guidance while letting everyone get creative. It's a nice break from the usual routine-nothing too fancy, just a quiet, sweet moment to enjoy good company and a well-made dessert. Limit 4 students.

One lucky student will be the teacher for the day. The student will plan and deliver the lessons for the day! Lunch and a special drink/snack will be provided. The teacher for the day will meet with Ms. Liddy before their experience to plan the day's activities. This will be a FUN activity! The winner will get a few cool "teacher" gifts. Teacher experience will take place on a Friday.

Paint Party with Mrs. DeBoard! One lucky Kiva student will get to invite three friends to a Paint Party in Mrs. DeBoard's art studio, after school on April 8, 2026. Students will use a canvas and acrylic paint to create their one of a kind painting. Snacks and their very own art apron will also be included! Paint Party 4 students total. April 8, 2026 from 3:15-4:30.

Winner will get to invite 9 (NINE!!) friends to an after school activity/game of your choice! Activity time will be from 3:15-4:15pm on April 23rd or April 30th. Winning student will get to choose a popsicle treat for all friends!

Your child will be guest conductor for band or strings at the Kiva Art Walk Concert of their choice on Thursday, April 23rd for 10 minutes, between 5-7pm in front of 200 people, with Dr. Kissane! If your child is performing in one of the ensembles, they can conduct a different ensemble's concert - 4th grade strings, 5th grade strings, 4th grade band, or 5th grade band!
