An eight-to-twelve week program for under-resourced schools for K-12 students that brings global and culturally-relevant dance styles, including African dance, step, Afrobeat, latin dance, and hip hop into the classroom to uplift, empower, and spark creativity and learning. In addition to our signature multicultural residency, we also offer residencies focused on social justice issues, self-identity, and/or social-emotional development. Residencies culminate in a joyous student performance.
The cost of each dance residency is $15,000. We are seeking to fund residencies in five partner schools for a total of $75,000.
This one-hour program offers school-age students a dynamic and engaging dance performance by our professional, multicultural ensemble. From ballet to hip hop, latin to African dance, this program celebrates diversity, culture, and identity.
The cost of each educational performance is $2,500.00. We are seeking to fund five educational performances in five schools for a total of $12,500.
Our commissioning program underscores Accent Dance NYC's commitment to nurturing the artistry of early-career choreographers who bring fresh voices and innovative ideas to the forefront of the dance world. Dedicated to spotlighting the NEXT voice, the NEXT collaboration, and the NEXT idea that ignites thought-provoking discussions or explores significant themes, this program empowers choreographers to create impactful work that resonates deeply with audiences of all ages.
The cost to commission a new work and to pay our professional artists to rehearse and perform it is $12,500. We are seeking to support one emerging choreographer to create a new work for our professional dance company for a total of $12,500.
