Harrison Stuart
Have you always wondered what Mr. Stuart does all day? Experience what it's like to be Head of School for one day - at least for the fun parts! One lucky student, on a mutually-agreed upon Friday will help with morning carpool, make announcements in chapel (including a casual dress day chosen by the student and Mr. Stuart), visit classrooms during a school tour, enjoy a special lunch with two friends and Mr. Stuart, and conduct afternoon carpool. Phew! In addition to all the Head of School tasks, the student will also spend some time in class.
Kathy Durham
It's not always easy being a middle schooler, but what about a Middle School Director? Join Mrs. Durham and get a taste for what it's like being the leader of the middle school for one day. One fortunate middle schooler will join Mrs. Durham, on a mutually-agreed upon day, as she makes her daily rounds of Armfield and will experience exactly what it is like to lead a middle school. Sorry, lucky winner, you will have to attend some of your classes, too! As we said, it's not easy being a middle schooler, but it is fun!
Hunter Smothers
Has your child always dreamed of sitting in that cushy office at the front of Fry Hall? One lucky child will get to use a loaner key fob for the day, visit their favorite teachers' classrooms, sit in Brown Hall conference room for a Zoom meeting, eat a special lunch with their class, and get their very own whistle to blow at carpool. What a day! This child's day will be documented with photos and compiled in a keepsake journal.

Mrs. Barker will bring her three pet snakes to your classroom, home, or special event! You will get to learn about and handle two rubber boas (small snakes rarely seen in captivity) and a ball python. If you'd like, Mrs. Barker will let you feed the ball python! You will receive snake party favors, a souvenir snake skin, and plenty of hand sanitizer. These are non-venomous, kid-friendly snakes. Children five and older only, please.
Emily Moss
Join LS learning specialist Emily Moss for an Outdoor Appreciation Day. This special day for 1-3 children between the ages of 8 and 12 will include at least one homemade nature craft, an outdoor picnic, and a wildlife observation hike along a local watershed trail. Good at any time of the year, the weekend excursion will run about 3-4 hours, depending on the ages and stamina levels of participants. Transportation from Canterbury to the hiking trail and back to Canterbury will be provided by Ms. Moss.
Kim Mann & Patty Clark
Enjoy a child-free parents' night out with your friends! 5th grade teachers Patty Clark and Kim Mann will provide 3.5 hours of fun for up to 8 children, age 4 or older, in Ketner Building at Canterbury. The winner will coordinate with Ms. Clark and Ms. Mann to choose a Friday night from 5:30-8 p.m., then the teachers will consult with the kids to plan the fun! Possible activities include games, movies, Minute to Win It and crafts, with a kid-friendly dinner provided of pizza, snacks, cookies and ice cream sundaes.

Make a keepsake you'll always remember! Middle school art teacher Melisa Wall invites the winning student and two friends to paint portraits of their pets. She will provide the paints and canvases prepped with drawings based on photos provided to her prior to the scheduled painting session. This approximately two-hour session will be held after school in her classroom.

The college application process is a stressful time for any teenager. Let middle school counselor Martha Stilson lend a listening ear to your high-schooler in a 60-minute counseling session. Acting as an unbiased sounding board, Ms. Stilson will help them discern a clearer idea of which colleges would be the best personal and academic "fit" for them.
Gena Carter
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to 6th grade teacher Gena Carter's classroom for a Wicked double-header. Mrs. Carter invites a group of up to five 6th-8th grade girls to join her for showings of Wicked and Wicked for Good. You bring your blankets and comfy clothes, and she'll provide snacks, drinks, and dinner. Mrs. Carter can host from 4:30-9 p.m. on 3/6, 3/10, 3/13, 4/10, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, or 5/15. Must be completed by May 15.

The goal is to hike, to enjoy being in the moment and present place, and to become more familiar with the environments surrounding us.

They'll learn about photography, captions, brand storytelling, and digital responsibility and see their work featured for the whole community to enjoy. Calling all young fans of Harry Potter! Chaplain Hunter will treat up to five students with a special reading of part of a chosen Harry Potter novel. Put on your PJs, grab a sleeping bag and pillows, and snuggle up for your favorite bedtime story. Meet Chaplain Hunter in the chapel, where she'll provide the spooky ambiance, animated voices, and a special Harry Potter snack! [Hunter sent me lots of photos. Donated by Lizzy Stemke, We Play is an all-girls, multi-sport youth camp where young athletes can try a variety of sports and activities in a supportive, confidence-building environment over the course of a week. Campers participate in cross-training and exposure to multiple sports, which can help enhance athletic ability, promote teamwork, and support overall physical and mental wellness. Camper must be girl, age 8-12.
Treat your child to a fun-filled afternoon at LeBauer Park! They'll enjoy two full hours of playtime-including the Splash Pad-with Mrs. Gruchacz. The outing wraps up with a celebratory hot dog and ice cream from Parkside Pull-Up. Sunshine, smiles, and sweet treats included!

Ann Browning will provide watercolor paints, brushes and watercolor paper to keep after the lesson, along with your own masterpieces! This item is open to all ages, but best suited for age 8 through adults.
