Commemorate the 2025 season with a "Shape Shift" drum practice pad! This custom collectable Galapagos drum pad was created by Andrew Morris, Cavalier FMM, owner of Turtle Pads Percussion (www.theturtlepad.com), and son of FMM Beno Morris.

The wooden base of the pad is made of MDF, an industry standard material used for drum pads. This base is also sealed with a finisher, and painted to preference.

The top of the pad features a natural gum rubber, with a vinyl laminate that is uniquely different from the standard hard top mylar laminates. The vinyl laminate retains much of the feel and rebound of the gum rubber, while adding articulation to each stroke.

The bottom of the Galapagos pad features a recycled rubber surface. The recycled rubber is great for gripping the surface it is on while the pad is in heavy use. The rubber is also just a little bit harder and thinner than the topside playing surface, while still offering rebound and quite a bit more articulation. This makes the bottom side perfect for chopping out, or when you need to draw a little more sound out of your playing.
