Handmade Custom Fly Rod and Guided Half-Day River Float!

Attention anglers! This package includes a custom fly rod from the good folks at Sullivan Fly Rods in Livingston, Montana, plus a half-day float for two with Bozeman-based fly fishing guide Josh Seckinger.

Sullivan's customization means you get complete control over all aspects of your fly rod build, creating something unique and personal. If you want assistance with the design of your rod, they will help with that too!

Each fly rod is made with a premium nickel-silver reel seat, an agate stripping guide, and Snake brand guides. As the physical connection with your fly rod, a premium cork handle lets you feel the rod loading, and gives you a comfortable and familiar grip for many fish to come. Agate stripping guides are available in a wide variety of colors to match your overall design, and you'll be able to choose the perfect one.

The team at Sullivan Fly Rods will work with you to answer any questions on your fly rod build, and you can even video chat to show off various reel seats, agate colors, and cork grips to make sure you are perfectly satisfied with your build. All rods include a cloth rod sock and a laser engraved aluminum rod tube.

Each custom fly rod takes roughly 3-4 weeks to complete, depending on the time of year and volume of work we have on hand.

Once done, guide Josh will take you out on the river sharing his decades of experience as an angler and guide. Whether it's your first day with a fly rod or you already know how to reach cast, stack mend, and shadow cast, time with Josh on the water will not soon be forgotten.

Paddle the Wild & Scenic Upper Missouri and uncover the layers of history. Most notably, the cross-continental journey of Lewis & Clark. Stephen Ambrose's book, Undaunted Courage, has inspired many to paddle this section of the Missouri River also known as the White Cliffs. You'll camp where they camped, see what they saw, and learn about their trip from our experienced guides. For any river traveler, this trip offers a very accessible route of discovery: geology, wildlife, Native American culture, early explorers, and the pioneers that followed.

Throughout this trip, you will have plenty of opportunities for on-shore exploration. Some highlights include Native American tipi rings, petroglyphs, narrow slot canyons, rock formation, plant identification, wildlife viewing, and more.

We've chosen a date before the crowded peak summer floating season for more solitude. Plus, you'll be joined by an MNHC Naturalist for some extra knowledge and open discussions about the natural environment, river conservation, and rich history of the region.

Canoeing the Missouri appeals to beginner and experienced paddlers alike. The gentle meandering current allows you the solitude to paddle your own tandem canoe alongside our guides. Some previous canoe experience is helpful but not required. Patience and ability to paddle 3-5 hours per day will ensure a successful journey.

The cozy, well-equipped Cayuse Cabin is surrounded by the Helena NF and proposed Nevada Mountain Wilderness Area, in hunting district 343. It sits along the North Fork of Prickly Pear Creek, 35 miles from Helena or Lincoln.

Bring your hiking boots, ATVs, XC skis, snowmobile, or horses - the possibilities are endless! There are lots of trails out the front door - the cabin is just below the CDT.

Amenities:

Lots of light, front porch with seating, king bed on the main floor, 4 queens in the loft, fully equipped kitchen, shower, outhouse or chamber pot, wood stove, comfortable living area. Outside BBQ, picnic table, and seating.

Please note: Limited to 6 guests. The cabin is unsuitable for young children, but those 13 and older are welcome!

Enjoy 3 nights and 4 days at an off-the-grid cabin, 22 miles up Rock Creek.

You'll have room for up to 8 people to sleep in the log cabin and the bunkhouse. A full kitchen in the cabin makes it easy to prepare meals and picnics. A porch off the back is the perfect place for morning coffee or a shady spot to pass an afternoon. Head to the firepit to gather in the evening as the sun sets. On a clear night the stars are unbelievable!

The property has private access to over 200 feet of Rock Creek with easy beach access for fishing, cooling off or relaxing. Located just 6 miles from the Welcome Creek Wilderness Trailhead and within a couple of miles of other trailheads, if you aren't fishing, you'll have
plenty to keep yourself busy.
