Herend specializes in hand painted and gilded porcelain.

Herend patterns are highlighted by 24K gold accents, and their trademark is a fishnet pattern, started in 1858.

Many connoisseurs consider the pattern on this special vase to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain. Different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.

Herend is the biggest porcelain manufactory in Europe. Royal commissions include Queen Victoria's 1851 purchase for Windsor Castle.
