Access to Kiwimbi's clean water has eradicated typhoid among the children who benefit from the fresh water we provide.

Kiwimbi's Prep for Success Program provides one-on-one mentoring, small group tutoring, and daily nutritious lunch for over 200 students at our three Focus Schools. It's hard to learn on an empty stomach.

Many children who qualify for secondary school are still unable to attend because they lack the necessary fees.
$400 covers food, uniforms, text books and all required items for an entire year for one student!
The list of required items also includes things like sugar, a mattress, cutlery and dishes, and even toilet paper. Literally everything the student will need for an entire year for only $400 a year!

Lunch for 10 students for almost the entire year! We know how important our Food for Thought lunch program is! The Prep for Success program focuses on English, reading comprehension and math skills.

Girls who go home for lunch often don't return for afternoon lessons:

• Kept home to do chores, watch younger siblings
• Historically were scoring poorly on the exam compared to boys because they were getting half a day's schooling
• Community thought girls were just not as smart as boys
• Girls are now performing on par with boys

This has completely changed the mindset of the community's perception of girls as learners!
