Chris was introduced to art when he was serving in the US Army, stationed at Fort Hood. On his weekends off, he visited Austin, where he became enthralled in the rich art and musical culture. "Gotham Sunset' was inspired by the 'Google Earth' app where aerial images of large cities are artworks unto themselves. This piece is an imagined aerial view of Gotham City at sunset, perhaps taken by Batman himself." Rick Ruark.
"I often try to create photographs that look like a particular thing, not necessarily the actual material I'm using. I'm very interested in space and science, and my goal was to create something celestial. Though, this (and some others) look a little more cosmic and strange-surprises in this process are a lot of fun. The pattern seem chaotic, but also feel like there's some fractal-nature logic behind the chaos. It was created using water, ink and some very simple chemistry and taking a photo."Michael Van Huffel.
