Carly Quinn Designs was founded in 2011 with the idea of bringing fresh energy to an age old art form known as Cuerda Seca. We are one of a handful of studios across the globe that creates hand glazed tiles using this old world technique.
All of our tiles are hand painted by our talented artists and fired at 2,000 degrees to create lasting works of art. Each tile is a unique work of art and glaze variations add to the inherent beauty of each piece. We are not a manufacturing facility, our pieces have the element of human touch and no two are exactly alike.

Embellish Butterfly Trivet
$72Embellish: Butterfly Ginko Trivet. 11"L x 8"W
https://www.embellishhomeetc.com/
The Butterfly Ginkgo Collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree , the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Butterfly Ginkgo", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work.
Materials: Goldtone, Oxidized Brass

Orthoceras Fossil
$100Orthoceras Fossil, from Morocco. 9.5" x 4" diameter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthoceras
A fossil Orthoceras is the remains of an extinct straight-shelled nautiloid cephalopod from the Ordovician period (about 488-443 million years ago), characterized by its long, conical shell with internal chambers (septa) that were used for buoyancy. These fossils are found worldwide, especially in limestone deposits in places like Morocco, and are valued for their aesthetic appeal, with many being polished to reveal the intricate internal structure of the shell.
