This triptych-three prints created with oil-based ink-reflects my work as a printmaker and my interest in composition.
I am a self-taught artist and began my printmaking practice over thirty years ago in Springfield, Massachusetts. After moving to Chicago, I joined the North Shore Art League in 1989, where I have continued to grow in my work.
My creative process embraces the element of surprise, and at times, my pieces incorporate a sense of humor and political commentary.I am currently living with ALS and continue to create while living on the North Shore with my husband, Robert.
I am living with SOD1 ALS and was diagnosed in December 2021. I began quilting 10 years ago, and it continues to be something that brings me a great deal of joy. With the help of my husband Jeff, who cuts the fabric, I am able to continue quilting every day. Each Tuesday, six of my friends come over and quilt with me, which is a time I look forward to each week. I chose the sunflower pattern because I love the happiness of sunflowers and hope that it touches others as well.
