"On an outing to the Beaver Pond on the Spring Creek Nature Trail, I came upon a flock of Black-Bellied Whistling Ducks in the water. They were feeding and squabbling with one on another over the available food source. Then all of a sudden, they hopped out of the water onto an old tree branch overhanding the pond, and lined up. A serendipitous moment to capture these ever-present residents of the Spring Creek Nature Trail."

About the Artist: Pat McElroy is a native born Texan and has lived in the Houston area almost all of her life. Pat studied with Dick Turner, where she learned to the paint in the manner of the Old Flemish Masters. Pat is best known for her bluebonnet landscapes. Two of her bluebonnet paintings are permanently displayed in the Barbara Bush Library, whereas others are in private collections around the world.
