Robyn Morgan Riel Ph.D. & Melaney Madewell
Cookeville, TN (Putnam County)
Dr. Robyn Morgan Riel has been dancing and performing since childhood, and her passion for ballroom continues to inspire students and audiences alike. As an instructor with the Second Line Dancers in Cookeville and Putnam County, she brings a variety of styles to life, including the romantic rhythms of the Rhumba. For Robyn, Let's Dance is a joyful opportunity to share the fun of dancing while keeping performance alive and thriving in the community. She believes dance is for all ages, offering not only artistic expression but also great exercise and lifelong health benefits.
Melaney Madewell made Cookeville her home in 1997, where she met her favorite person-her husband, Craig Ficking. They have one son, Lee, who is about to graduate from college and appears to be following in his parents' footsteps as he pursues a law career. Melaney is adjusting to being an empty nester and staying busy working part-time, traveling, enjoying the outdoors with friends, and recently, taking adult ballet and beginner cello lessons. She laughs that she's "not great at either," but loves the fun and community connection they bring.
Melaney also serves on the WCTE PBS Board of Directors. She admits that this event is well outside her comfort zone, but says that because WCTE is such a vital part of the community, "anything we can do to help is certainly worth doing."
Together, Robyn and Melaney are ready to bring joy, courage, and community spirit to the Let's Dance stage!
