ABOUT MORE THAN A BOUT
Thank you for joining us at the 2025 Guns N Hoses Charity Boxing event! Since 2003, the Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment (SAFE) has been completely supported through private donations and fundraising events. Tonight's important gathering honors our fallen but is also the primary method of raising funds to support the families of First Responders who are killed or suffer career-ending injuries in the line-of-duty. We hope everyone here tonight will have a good time supporting this great cause.
IMMEDIATE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
One of the most important aspects of SAFE is the immediate financial assistance provided within 24-48 hours following the tragic loss of a First Responder in SAFE's 12-county coverage area. Often, insurance and other benefits can take weeks or even months to pay while the financial responsibilities for the family do not stop.
It is because of the incredible generosity of our donors, sponsors, and supporters, that Guns N Hoses has continued to grow. This success has enhanced our ability to provide greater financial assistance to our SAFE families, with the benefit being raised to $40,000 in 2024! Your generosity has provided over $900,000 in immediate financial support to families following a line-of-duty death and for ongoing holiday benefits, as well as almost $100,000 in scholarships for First Responder children.
WHY WE'RE HERE
Sadly, we continue to suffer the death of First Responders in our local communities. Since we were last together at Guns N Hoses in 2024, we've lost two of Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department's finest.
On September 17, 2024 we mourned the loss of Kansas City, Missouri Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Brinker who died during a training certification exercise for underwater rescue. Kansas City Missouri Firefighter/Paramedic Graham Hoffman was stabbed by an individual being transported to the hospital and succumbed to his wounds on April 27, 2025.
Please keep all First Responders and their families in your thoughts and prayers. Our communities owe them a debt of gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
