Dana Adelman is a dedicated Group Exercise Instructor at the Duneland YMCA, where she leads BodyPump and Spin classes and has been inspiring the community since 2018. She lives in the Duneland area with her husband Aaron, their two children Lex and Elin, and their pug, Snack Pack. Dana's passion for fitness and community shines through her work, and she's honored to represent YMCA staff in this year's Dancing Like the Stars event. The YMCA has played a vital role in her fitness journey, and she's excited to give back to the warm and welcoming community she loves.
"I am happy to represent the YMCA employees this year in their mission to serve the Duneland community," Dana said.
A fun fact about Dana-she can touch her tongue to her nose! Although she and her husband are both from Canton, Ohio, they didn't meet until their 30s while living in Chicago (thanks to a Facebook message!). Dana is looking forward to making new connections and dancing alongside her talented partner Kristin, a former Purdue dance captain-just don't bring up that Ohio State vs. Purdue game on happening on November 8, the same day they will be dancing together! Kelly Sieman is the Accounting Manager at the Duneland Chamber of Commerce. She has been an active part of the Duneland community for 21 years, both living and working in Chesterton since moving here. Kelly is married to Tim and is a proud mom to Abbey, who is 26, and Emma, who is 22. Their family also includes Ruby, their lively 9-year-old dog. Kelly has a long-standing connection to the Duneland Family YMCA's Dancing Like the Stars event, having been a spectator, backup dancer, and planning committee chair for the past three years. This year, she's stepping up to the spotlight as a dancer representing the Y board-excited to showcase her skills alongside her daughter Emma. Fun fact: Kelly took tap, jazz, ballet, and tumbling classes from the age of 3 through high school, so she's ready to dust off those dancing shoes!

Jenny Vidimos is a retired elementary teacher who has called the Duneland community home for 35 years. She and her husband, Scott, have three adult children-Adam, Joan, and Christine-and a growing family that includes their spouses and eight wonderful grandchildren: Taylor, Ava, Audrey, Josie, Allison, James, Ruthie, and Roesly. Jenny is participating in the Duneland Family YMCA's Dancing Like the Stars fundraising event, encouraged by the overwhelming support of her family and friends.
"I'm hoping it's just a whole lot of FUN, and a positive experience for my family, friends, supporters, and me!" Jenny said.

Did you know Jenny used to ride a unicycle? Now her granddaughter is following in her wheel tracks, learning the same fun skill! Jenny is most excited about the joy, laughter, and positive energy this experience is sure to bring. Michelle Renninger is a devoted Realtor with an impressive 45-year career and a deep love for her community. She and her husband, Robb, are proud parents to two sons-Henry and Samuel-and are passionate about supporting organizations that uplift others. Michelle believes strongly in the mission of the YMCA and is excited to give back through this unique opportunity.

"The YMCA offers important programming for our entire community and I want to support their efforts!" said Michelle.

While she admits she's terrified of frogs, she's fearlessly stepping into the unknown to learn something new and contribute to a meaningful cause. Michelle's heart, courage, and community spirit shine bright-cast your vote and cheer her on as she dances for a difference!

Timothy Whalen is the Vice President at AECOM, where he serves as a civil engineer, and has proudly called the Duneland community home for over 16 years. He and his wife, Katie, have four children-Payton, Jackson, TJ, and Morgan-plus their beloved dog, Maggie.

Encouraged by Katie (and unable to say no!), Tim is stepping out of his comfort zone and onto the dance floor for the Duneland Family YMCA's Dancing Like the Stars fundraising event.

"The YMCA has been and continues to be a positive force in our community, so any opportunity to help support it is worthwhile, " says Tim.

While he may not claim to be the best dancer, Tim never turns down a chance for fun-and with 37 Pearl Jam concerts under his belt, he's no stranger to good vibes and great music!

Jami Crisman is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with four years of experience in the field. She and her husband, Blake, share a passion for community involvement and are raising their three children-Avery, Gavin, and Oliver-with those same values.

"As a family, it is important to support community organizations who give so much to the community," Jami said.

The Crisman family is currently channeling their energy into a rewarding renovation of a local 1890 farmhouse, a labor of love that has brought them closer together. Though Jami has no professional dance experience, she is excited to embrace the challenge, enjoy time with the love of her life, and step confidently outside of her comfort zone.

Kasandra Tenbarge is the Associate Director at First Things First Porter County and has been an integral part of the Duneland community for 12 years, with 9 years spent living here. She's married to Adam Tenbarge, the Assistant Principal at Chesterton High School, who has also been part of this community for 9 years. Together, they're the proud parents of two boys: Adam (AJ), and Grayson. While dancing for the Duneland Family YMCA Dancing Like the Stars event, Kasandra is joined by Adam as her dance partner. They both believe in the importance of family activities that support healthy lifestyles-values the YMCA has helped instill through youth sports leagues and community gatherings.

"The Y is important to me because it reflects what is great about our Duneland community: Helping families, the importance of physical and mental health, supporting our youngest and most experienced neighbors and friends," said Kasandra.

They're excited to spend this journey dancing together and turning rehearsals into fun date nights! Some fun facts about the two: Kasandra's hobbies include playing the ukulele, spending time in the garden, and working on her Master's in Philanthropy. She was also in show choir back in the day and has a real knack for recycling. Adam, meanwhile, hails from Huntingburg, Indiana-famous for being the filming location of A League of Their Own-adding his own interesting twist to their story.
"My wife and I both believe that staying active is important, and it is equally important for families to do activities together that are positive and encourage a strong, healthy lifestyle. ," Adam said.

Crystal Novak is the Assistant Branch Manager at Centier Bank in Chesterton South, where she has been proudly serving the community for the past two years. A Chesterton resident since 2014, Crystal is a devoted mom to three wonderful children-Mason, Madyson, and Ian-as well as three beloved fur babies. Her boyfriend Robbie and her incredible mom are her biggest sources of strength and support. Inspired by a past Dancing Like the Stars event, Crystal is stepping out of her comfort zone this year to challenge herself and grow-accompanied by her youngest son, Ian, as her enthusiastic sidekick.

"I am excited to meet new people and find a way to give back to this wonderful community we live in," Crystal said.

Whether enjoying time at the YMCA or taking magical family trips to Disney-her happy place-Crystal is a kid at heart who treasures every moment. She's thrilled to connect with new people and give back to the vibrant community she loves. Kate O'Connor is a Nurse Practitioner at Optimal Health & Wellness and has been with the practice for two years. She and her husband Andy are proud parents to three energetic boys-Hudson, Austin, and Mason. With a strong passion for youth enrichment and sports, Kate is committed to helping ensure all kids in Chesterton have access to meaningful opportunities.

"As a mom of 3 active boys, youth enrichment and sports are a big focus for me; so I think it's important for the youth in Chesterton to have the same opportunities," Kate says.
Before entering the medical field, she earned a degree in Fashion Design, studied abroad in Italy, and interned with Abercrombie's design team.
