Bio: The jewelry designs of Lainey Papageorge orbit the gems and minerals that have inspired her for the past 40 years. As a child, walking for hours among the creeks of the Fernbank Forest that bordered her home in the Druid Hills area of Atlanta, Papageorge's artistic journey began. It was on these walks that she made a connection with the beauty of rocks and crystals. Moments of meditation spent on a warm slab of granite at her studio retreat in the Finger Lakes region of New York have inspired Papageorge to explore the healing properties of the stones that give ballast to her jewelry. Motivated by the process of discovering and capturing what she sees among the stones, Papageorge's jewelry maintains a unique fingerprint. Her kinship with other jewelry designers has created masterpieces working in collaboration with Kent Raible,

Janet Alix, Paula Crevoshay, Maija Neimanis, and Jeff and Susan Wise. Above all, Papageorge is known for her interplay of color with a wide variety of materials. Bone, shell, mica, quartz, creek rocks, pearls, turquoise, aquamarine, emerald, ruby, sapphire, opal, spinel, diamonds, and the exquisite Paraiba tourmaline are just a taste of what rests on Papageorge's workbench.
