Because of Henry

Two years ago, a group of moms came together to start the Henry McCann Memorial Colorectal Cancer Foundation. This nonprofit was created in honor of Henry McCann, a son, brother, and friend whose story changed our lives.

Just before his 18th birthday, Henry was diagnosed with colon cancer. He was the picture of health-young, strong, active, an athlete. He didn't fit the profile most people imagine when they think of colon cancer. And yet, after a long and courageous fight, he passed away at just 25. His loss was devastating-not only to his family, but to the entire community.

Because of Henry, we committed ourselves to change. We've worked to raise awareness about the alarming rise in colorectal cancer among young people. We've put up educational billboards across Columbus, launched a Beneficence Program to help patients access quality care and testing, and are collaborating to build a support group specifically for early-onset colorectal cancer. We're partnering with researchers, hosting medical outreach efforts, and supporting experts working toward better treatments and understanding of this disease.

We do all of this because of Henry.

And we can't do any of it without your support. Our Bourbon and Blue Gala, held this year on June 7th, is our biggest fundraiser of the year-and it's what makes all of this possible.
