Does the thought of a slow-smoked and saucy BBQ dinner make your mouth water? If so you will definitely want to take home (8) $25 gift certificates to Big Ed's BBQ in Matawan, NJ.

You'll get a whiff of Big Ed's BBQ long before you park the car in what looks like a fenced-in barnyard. It's great smelling smoke, too, redolent of ribs and chicken and sloppy pulled pork. Granted it's odd to see a Southern roadhouse on a suburban New Jersey highway, but believe your nose and turn in to try some real down-home cooking. The menu is loaded with options but most folks come for the all-you-can-eat ribs that are served all the time. And don't exclude the lure of the other barbecue items, served with slaw, corn on the cob and a choice of potato. The "combos" offer a wealth of flavors, perhaps some unique to the Northeast, such as a platter of baby-backs and fried clam strips. There's always a pie of the day and a cake of the day, and the ever-popular.

Big Ed's BBQ also has a full service 20 stool bar. They carry a full line of beer, wine and liquor and also has TVs positioned for viewing at the bar. You can order online, get delivery, or curbside take-out.
