Suzanne Lenzer and Ken Rath make up the dusty pair behind Sawdust Studio & Turnery, a food stylist and cookbook author who loves bowls and an ex-IT guy who has a passion for making arts & crafts furniture. Together they now create a limited range of home goods from reclaimed New England wood (all logs are salvaged, and no trees are sacrificed for any of their pieces).

All of Suzanne and Ken's wares are turned or shaped from green logs found in and around their neck of Connecticut. Working with green wood encourages natural warping during the drying process, giving each a unique and distinctive shape. And every piece is happily riddled with imperfections from Mother Nature: dramatic spalting, striking trails of ambrosia discoloration, and knots of all shapes and sizes. The beauty of these handcrafted wares derives from the individuality of the wood itself, allowing each piece to be expressive in its own way. Additionally, every effort is made to use the entirety of every log-once the blanks are cut for bowls, the heart of the log is salvaged for boards, servers, cellars, pins, and more.
