Artist Statement:
I created this piece to visually represent this year's GSAFE Quilt and Fiber Art Auction. It utilizes both cross stitch and quilting techniques. The green cross-stitched wording alludes to the green GSAFE logo as well as announcing this year's auction theme. The pieced triangle borders use subtle rainbow fabric as a nod to GSAFE'S work with LGBTQ+ youth.
This poster style quilted wall hanging is an interpretation of a well-known meme for Organize!. We survive on our own, but we thrive and become more resilient when we work together to create a better world. The quilt is machine raw-edge appliqued and machine quilted with hand embroidered lettering.

I custom quilted Churn Dash on the March to enhance the color scheme and strengthen the diagonal lines. Free hand and ruler quilting were used. Quilting took approximately 90 hours. A sleeve for hanging the quilt is attached to the back.
