Description:
Up-cycled Denim Jacket - Seated Female Nude Abstract: Simple "female" figure in yellow on white background. Coarse weave and fringe linen repurposed on classic, pre-worn Eddie Bauer jacket. Topped with strip of yellow and white braid. Front of jacket unembellished. Please note measurements. Gentle hand washing with garment turned inside out.

Bust/Chest is about 40" and waist about 38". "Roomy" fit.

In support and honor of LGBTQ+ friends, former students and colleagues, as well as educators about and for the community.
Sweater may be washed in lukewarm water and laid flat to dry.

This one-size-fits-most reversible apron has winter gnomes on one side and wine glasses on the other for year-round use. Add a couple of cooking utensils or a pot holder, and you have a great gift for that someone who loves to cook! Or buy it for yourself and know that your purchase has gone to a worthwhile cause. The ties are long enough for front tying, and the neck conveniently closes with Velcro. Each side has two pockets. (Wooden spoons in photos are not included but are there to show the pockets.)
This is my third year contributing an item to the GSAFE auction. As a retired educator, I have witnessed the importance of providing a safe place for all children, but especially for the LGBTQ+ community. We all hope that every student appreciates their unique self, and feels safe and accepted by others in their school community.
Thrifted Madison Forward shirt modified into a colorful poncho. Hand knit panels in vibrant rainbow yarn makes this a floaty, open statement piece. The original t-shirt was size Large but this garment as finished can accommodate a wide range of sizes-see dimensions. Superwash yarn/wool acrylic blend makes this machine washable (on delicate) and able to dry on low heat.

As an avid knitter I'm always looking for ways to use my craft for good! I have been so impressed by the community GSAFE brings together, and their work is more crucially important than ever. I contribute items to multiple silent auctions but GSAFE's may be my favorite. I love breaking out colorful yarns and bold patterns for this auction!

As an educator, I have seen first-hand the damaging effects of exclusion and the healing effects of inclusion for LGBTQ+ youth and adults. In today's political climate, I believe that each person needs to do as much as possible to support all marginalized folx, so I appreciate the GSAFE mission. I love to knit socks, so this seemed like a perfect way to help make the world a little bit better!
