Captain Steve Schwartz has been sailing on the Woody since 1978. He was trained by Pete Seeger and Alan Anapu (1st Clearwater Captain) and is licensed by the Coast Guard to sail a 100-ton vessel. Steve is an adjunct professor of sailing at Marist College and is knowledgeable about all things Hudson River.

This beautiful ceramic vase was created by Dale Wolfield, an accomplished ceramist and former art educator. The vase is wheel-thrown using brown stoneware clay.

Dale relief carves the design into the clay while it is still moist. Her intricate designs take many hours to plan and execute. The vase depicts copepods, small zooplankton found in abundance in the Hudson River.

It stands about 10 inches tall and is stained with Barnard clay and finished with a rutile yellow glaze. Dale credits Chris Bowser, former Clearwater educator, for her inspiration.

Bill Sterling is a retired art teacher with a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Painting.
Building guitars is now his passion; which he has been doing guitars for 17 years. This combines his talents in art; woodworking; and music. He studied with Dave Nichols at Custom Pearl Inlay in Malone; NY. Bill teaches guitar and ukulele-making classes at The Hudson River Maritime Museum Boat School. You are bidding on a beautiful live-edge coffee table handcrafted from native cherry by Jack Weeks and Rob Hare.

Among his many diverse areas of expertise, Jack is a sawyer and timber framer. The wooden slab was cut from a downed cherry tree on Jack's woodlot in Stanfordville. The rectangular piece at the end, called a breadboard, was made by Rob Hare, who describes himself as a "maker of things". Rob builds fine concept furniture and accessories with sculptural elements in wood and metal.

The result is a unique piece of furniture which would enhance any room.The table is 17" high and sits on metal legs. Its wonderfully irregular top is 57" long and 19" wide.
