Michael Dweck, The End: Montauk, N.Y. Portfolio
Ten (10) gelatin silver and chromogenic prints, 11 x 14 in. each. Edition of 50, signed and numbered. Published by Ditch Plains Press, 2015
Michael Dweck is an American visual artist, photographer, and filmmaker whose work explores themes of identity, community, and cultural fragility. His images often capture subcultures on the edge of disappearance, reflecting the tension between tradition and modernity.
This portfolio is part of Dweck's iconic The End: Montauk, N.Y. series, a lyrical chronicle of the East End's fading surf culture. Shot in the early 2000s, the images document Montauk's mythic enclave of surfers, artists, and locals-rendered with the intimacy of someone who lived it. Each print is signed, stamped, and housed in a handmade clothbound clamshell box, released in conjunction with the 10th anniversary edition of the landmark book.
