He has hosted more than 3500 cooking shows on PBS and around the world.
He is an accomplished chef, restauranteur, cookbook author, cultural ambassador and food and hospitality consultant.
His award-winning series Yan Can Cook premiered in 1978. It has introduced generations of viewers to Chinese and Asian cuisines. It is the longest continuous cooking series on television.
Chef Yan has also made countless appearances on "Iron Chef", "Top Chef", "Master Chef", "Hell's Kitchen", and "Check, Please", as well as many public events worldwide.
